Clear and accessible program guidance: DEWR Reconnection, Employment and Learning (REAL) Program

Ninti One partnered with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations to develop the Reconnection, Employment and Learning (REAL) Program Operational Guidelines, creating a clear and accessible framework to support culturally safe program delivery.

The REAL Program supports First Nations people transitioning from the justice system into employment and education through personalised mentoring and reconnection with essential services. Ninti One simplified and restructured complex policy content, embedding strength based, culturally safe language and tailoring the guidelines for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and smaller providers.

The work also strengthened document structure, accessibility and alignment with Australian Government style standards, including plain English and screen reader compatibility. Supporting visual aids and summary materials were developed to clearly communicate key processes and requirements, enabling consistent implementation across Australia.
