Delivered in partnership with the Australian Electoral Commission, the Deadly Democracy Comprehensive Youth Program was a national youth engagement program designed to increase electoral participation among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
The program supported participants aged 18–24 through workshops, online learning, and community project development. It built knowledge of democratic systems, voting processes, and civic engagement while strengthening confidence and leadership capability.
Participants demonstrated significant improvements in understanding of electoral systems and increased engagement in voting and community leadership. The program also delivered broader community impact through participant-led projects promoting civic awareness.
