Australia – Papua New Guinea Subnational Program (APSP)

The Australia–PNG Subnational Program (APSP) supports governance and service delivery at the provincial level across Papua New Guinea.

The APSP manages three place-based partnerships including the Western Province Partnership, the Kokoda Initiative Partnership, and the Bougainville Partnership that focus on regions where communities are actively driving improvements in governance, economic development, and social inclusion. Ninti One leads First Nations Australians participation within the APSP, working to embed First Nations perspectives into governance structures, program design and implementation.

The work focuses on strengthening culturally informed engagement, supporting DFAT and program partners to better understand and apply Indigenous approaches to governance and community development.

Through this role, Ninti contributes to more inclusive and locally responsive program outcomes, while strengthening relationships between Australian and PNG stakeholders.
