As we head into another busy month, the NATSIFACP Regulation Support Hub would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the teams across the states and territories who have welcomed us over the past few months. Together, we have now visited 18 service providers across 26 sites – a fantastic achievement and a testament to the commitment and dedication shown by service providers in preparing for aged care reform.
It’s hard to believe we are now more than halfway through our funded support period. If you haven’t booked a site visit yet, or if things have simply been too busy, that’s ok – please remember that we can work around your schedule. Whether you need tailored resources, monthly check‑ins, online training for management, staff or boards, or just want to talk through a particular issue, please reach out. We have only 12 months left to support service providers through the reforms and we are committed to delivering that support in whatever way suits you best. Please contact us on 0429621 646 or at NATSIFACregulationsupport@nintione.com.au.
Behind the scenes, the Support Hub team has been busy developing action trackers for each of the services we have visited. These action plans will help provide a clear roadmap for ongoing support and outline practical ways we can work together to ensure services are reform-ready.
While travelling and meeting with service providers has kept us busy, we have also been listening. Many providers have raised questions around whistleblower protections and requirements under the new Aged Care Act. In response, we have developed a new Whistleblower Toolbox Talk – a practical resource designed to support conversations with staff and strengthen understanding across services. Check out the Support, Tools and Resources section of this newsletter for links to our latest seven resources.
Another topic that has featured strongly during our visits is re-registration. With many services starting to prepare for this important process, we are pleased to be hosting a webinar on 8 July, facilitated by our Aged Care Advisor, Elizabeth Drozd. If you have not yet received your invitation, you can register here.
This month, we’re pleased to share a positive update from Ngaanyatjarra Health. Following feedback from clients and collaboration with community members and dieticians, they have developed culturally appropriate weekend hampers that better support the needs of their clients. We also encourage service providers to continue sharing their own stories of innovation and best practice. Perhaps it's an activity that demonstrates culturally safe, person-centred care, a new process that has improved service delivery, or an initiative that has strengthened outcomes for Elders and communities. We would love to hear from you and celebrate the great work happening across the program.
As always, please don't hesitate to reachout – we are always happy to help and would love to hear from you.
Ngaityalya (Thank you)
