Abstract:

This book concentrates on the process of rural health and provides a significant contribution to the debate surrounding the determinants of health and what is necessary for improving the health status of, and access to health services, for Australians living in remote and rural areas. The book is divided into 4 sections under the following headings: rural society, health, and health services; major health challenges; rural professional practice; and the future of rural health. The book has 18 chapters and a subject index.
