Review of demographic component of ‘Management of large feral herbivores (camels) in the Australian rangelands draft methodology’

Abstract:

Carbon credits for feral camel removal has considerable potential to facilitate commercial use of feral camels, and associated remote community capacity building opportunities, in areas where the economics are currently marginal. In areas where commercial use is not viable, even with income from credits, the credits could facilitate feral camel culling to reduce feral camel impacts to biodiversity, cultural assets, infrastructure and human safety.
