Aboriginal children and their families: history and trends in Western Australia

Abstract:
Overviews government policies of intervention in the lives of Aboriginal families in the south-west of Western Australia; definitions of Aboriginality affected levels of service provided to Aboriginal people; part-Aboriginal children were placed in the legal guardianship of the state from 1905-1963; separation of families; removal of children; education; citizenship; youth homelessness; Aboriginal families today.
