Meet Katie Langmore who, as one of our Aged Care Change Readiness Advisors with the NATSIFACP Regulation Support Hub, supports change readiness yarns, site visits and activity tracker monitoring. Katie brings extensive experience in community engagement and development to the team. She has supported many Ninti One programs including the Service Development Assistance Panel (SDAP) program, where she has learnt on the job about the complexity of aged care regulatory requirements. She takes her hat off to anyone working in the sector, and loves having the opportunity to facilitate support and knowledge sharing for the NATSIFACP.

What does your role at the Support Hub involve?

I initially joined the team with other Community Works colleagues to develop a tool that enabled the Support Hub to gauge how ready each NATSIFACP provider felt they were about the Aged Care Reform requirements.  Since then, I have had the privilege of joining a few site visits and also work in the background two days a week reaching out to providers to see how they’re tracking with tasks they identified they would like support with during their site visits.

What's one area you’re particularly focused on right now?

As well as ensuring everyone is accessing the support they want from the Hub, I feel strongly about creating opportunities for you all to share knowledge, ideas and strategies with each other. You are the experts in remote and regional aged care service delivery, and we are coming across some beautiful delivery ideas when we meet with you. I’d like those ideas and insights to be shared around.

What do you enjoy most about working with NATSIFACP service providers?

Meeting you and your clients and residents – and getting to see some of the wild and woolly places you live in.

What's something you’d like providers to know as the reforms roll out?

I would like to say that we know how complex these systems are and how stretched you are for time, so please tap into our support and expertise whenever you feel it will help. You aren’t alone in this.

What's your favourite downtime activity?

As a mum of two teenagers, my favourite downtime activity would have to be shutting the door and having a bath or streaming a show. But I’m also passionate about travel and meeting people across Australia and around the world.
