Meet Elizabeth Drozd, one of our Aged Care Advisors with the NATSIFACP Regulation Support Hub. Elizabeth brings more than 30 years of experience across aged care, community services and governance. She was the long-term CEO of Australian Multicultural Community Services and has extensive experience in strategic planning, financial sustainability, governance and aged care reform. Elizabeth now works closely with Aboriginal and remote aged care services, providing practical support across governance, compliance and reform readiness.
What does your role at the Support Hub involve?
I provide guidance and practical support with any aged care reform related queries that NATSIFACP funded organisations may have. I also visit NATSIAFCP aged care organisations and work with staff and managers on specific priorities to ensure compliance.
What's one area you're particularly focused on right now?
Every organisation is at different stages of implementing the aged care reforms and I always try to make sure that we customise our assistance as a Support Hub. Recently however, we are starting to focus on the process of re-registration and completing the Audit-Evidence-Collection Tool, which all NATSIFACP providers will need to complete prior to their registration renewal date.
What do you enjoy most about working with NATSIFAC program service providers?
I enjoy visiting and sharing my extensive aged care knowledge with the NATSIFACP staff located in various remote areas.
What's something you'd like providers to know as the reforms roll out?
I would like to once again say that we are available whenever you need us. You are not alone and please remember that we are only a phone call away.
What's your favourite downtime activity?
I enjoy walking and try to walk minimum 10,000 steps per day. When I am busy working during the day in a remote community, sometimes I make up my 'missing steps' inside a donga where we are staying 🙂
