IREG 501 - Community Smoke Free Zones
The BRAMS TIS team has hit the ground running with providing Smoke Free Space Scans to workplaces across IREG-501. Since January 2026, the team has completed five scans and smoke free zone signage to the Bidyadanga Community Arts Centre, Bidyadanga Community Office, Ardyaloon Community Clinic, and the KAMS offices in Broome.
All TIS target groups were the focus of this activity as they all gather at these community spaces. BRAMS distributed their TIS signage and smoke-free policy resources to these groups and collaborated with each organisation to identify how many community members would benefit from the reduced exposure to second and third-hand smoke that these zones would create. Great work, BRAMS!

IREG 508 - Community Healthy Lifestyles Mural
The DAHS TIS team collaborated with the Derby Hospital to host a community event where community members worked together to create a healthy lifestyles mural at the hospital. All TIS target groups were the focus of this activity.
The TIS team provided education on the day and then held Q&A sessions, inviting community members to share their ideas on the benefits of not taking up smoking or vaping, as well as the benefits of quitting.
The mural was a fantastic way to create good community spirit and exposure to TIS.

IREG 504 - Community Group Education Results
The YYMS TIS Team recently ran a smoking and vaping education session with their local youth pre-employment program. The target group for these sessions was young people aged 12 to 24.
TIS educated the group on the health harms from smoking, the benefits of quitting and the practical ways to seek support to quit. The YYMS team used surveys and informal chats to evaluate this activity. All 12 participants were smokers, and it was encouraging to see that after the session, 8 participants expressed a strong interest in wanting to quit.
