A member of the Support Hub team recently attended the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s national conference, Rights and Choice, Every Day: One Year In. The team heard about some of the biggest issues aged care providers are facing, and brought these learnings back to the Support Hub to ensure our support remains focused on the key issues providers are facing as you navigate the reforms.
One of the main challenges providers are talking about is preparing for audit and registration renewal. For some NATSIFACP providers, this may be the first time going through this process. It can be especially challenging for smaller services and local councils, where aged care is only one of many programs being delivered.
The conference also highlighted something many of you have told us already, including during the recent Reflections and Insights Sharing webinar: there is a lot of information being released by the Department and the Commission, and it can be difficult to keep up. Understanding what applies to your service, what actions need to be taken, and where to find the right information can be overwhelming.
Over the coming months, the Support Hub will continue to help providers navigate new guidance and resources, but with a greater focus on audit readiness, registration renewal and practical steps providers can take to prepare for upcoming audits.
This month’s newsletter includes updates on the My Aged Care website for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, changes to the NATSIFACP Manual, and recent updates to GPMS.
As always, if you need assistance with any aspect of the reforms, reach out to the Support Hub to arrange a one-on-one online support session, ongoing mentoring or a site visit – NATSIFACregulationsupport@nintione.com.au or 0429 621 646. We look forward to hearing from you!
