Building Skills and Strengthening Connections with GRAMS TIS

On 4 June 2026, I visited Geraldton to catch up with the GRAMS TIS Barndi Yarraly team at their regional office.

I delivered my TIS training suite to the team’s three newest members, Shary, Chance and Maggie, to help them learn more about the support and advice available through the NBPU TIS. We worked together to develop new calls to action, role played delivering very brief advice and created mock activities to strengthen monitoring and evaluation. It was wonderful to see the team innovating and learning from one another in such a fun and engaging way.

In the afternoon, the team shared some of the new reels they have been regularly posting on Facebook and Instagram. They also gave me a preview of new activities and resources expected to launch later this year, so watch this space.

Following the training, I joined the Barndi Yarraly and Youth teams for the Kick It 2 the Kurb boxing education activity at Point Blank Fitness, an Aboriginal co-owned gym in the heart of Geraldton.

Thank you again to the GRAMS TIS team for being such deadly hosts.
