The AGM is something all organisations
have to have every year – and before a
certain date – to meet the legal
requirements (conditions) of their
incorporation.
The AGM has to be advertised so all
members get the chance to find out
about it and attend. The rules will say
what sort of notice you have to give.
But it’s probably 30 days.
The AGM will get a report from:
• The Chairperson
• The CEO
• The Treasurer, who also introduces
the Auditor’s report
Two Way Governance: Presentation 18
The AGM does three things:
•
It hears reports on how the organisation has been going.
•
It appoints (votes for) executive members – Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer,
Public Officer and can vote for new Board members.
•
It appoints the auditors.
