At an ordinary Board meeting, the
Directors decide that one of the rules
needs to change.
The Board votes on it and agrees.
What do you do now?
You have to let the members of the
organisation know and you have to give
them a notice with the written words
showing exactly what the change will be.
Your Constitution might say you have to
give 30 days
notice
of a Special General
Meeting.
So you have to let people know 30 days
BEFORE the meeting is to be held.
You put the date of the meeting on your
advertisement for the meeting and you
put the date you’re giving notice of that
meeting.

Usually giving notice means you have to advertise in local media and in public places,
like outside the shop or your office, with posters.
