Two Way Governance: Presentation 18
If there has to be a vote, it’s usually a
secret ballot.
Once the Returning Officer has counted
the votes, he or she lets the meeting
know who has been elected.
The AGM then decides who will be the
auditors
to inspect and report on the
organisation’s finances for the coming
year.
Then they destroy the ballot papers and hand over
chairing the meeting to the Chairperson.
And that’s the AGM over for another year!
The Returning Officer writes down the names of the candidates on ballot
papers, hands them out to members and gives them time to vote.
