Ready for a new challenge? Ninti One currently has vacancies in the National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking. These are identified positions and are only open to people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

 

The National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking (NBPU TIS) supports regional tobacco and vaping grant recipients in their efforts to reduce the rates of smoking among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Role 1:

Executive Officer to National Program Manager – National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking

We require a dynamic, organised team player to assist in this busy and important program. The successful applicant will have strong administration and Executive Officer experience. The role is based in Adelaide on Kaurna Country.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the National Program Manager in the planning, implementation and monitoring of program activities.
  • Assist the coordination and planning of meetings, workshops and events.
  • Prepare and maintain up-to-date records of program progress and outcomes.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting materials, agendas and minutes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records and databases.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organisations and program partners.
  • Manage calendars, schedules and correspondence for the National Program Manager.
  • Assist with the development and dissemination of program communications, including newsletters, website content and social media updates.

 

Role 2:

Program Officer – National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking

The South Australian based Program Officer is responsible for South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania’s Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) grant recipients. The Program Officer plays a key role in supporting TIS teams and connecting them with NBPU TIS support. The Program Officer will work closely with the National Program Manager to identify, develop and deliver evidence-based training to regional grant recipients.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with regional grant recipients to develop and deliver tailored support to assist them to meet Tackling Indigenous Smoking program goals.
  • Organising and facilitating regional and national workshops involving grant recipients, key stakeholders and other experts.
  • Identifying, sourcing and, if necessary, designing workforce development and capacity-building activities.
  • Assisting grant recipients to develop and implement performance monitoring and impact assessment activities.
  • Developing and maintaining a close working knowledge of social, political and scientific developments likely to impact on the TIS program, the work of NBPU TIS and its partners.

 

Role 3:

Marketing and Communications Manager – National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing and delivering an integrated communication and marketing strategy to support the Tackling Indigenous Smoking program and Ninti One. The role is based in Adelaide on Kaurna Country.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the delivery of activities to ensure Ninti One is represented in the appropriate manner.
  • Managing merchandise procured to support the Tackling Indigenous Smoking program’s marketing and communications activities.
  • Facilitating the production, distribution and updating of communications products such as displays, digital content and marketing materials.
  • Ensuring Ninti branding guidelines are clearly outlined and adhered to by staff, partners and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the collection and maintenance of images, information, articles and data for use in our publications.
  • Regularly posting social media content.
  • Distributing publications and information through the relevant mailing lists.
  • Maintaining and updating our communications databases (including contacts and newsletters).
