South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria 2026 Wrap Up
Starting in this role in February has made for a really rewarding year of connecting with Tackling Indigenous Smoking teams across the country. From Flinders Island Aboriginal Association Inc, Victorian Aboriginal Health Service, Winnunga Nimmityjah, Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service, Grand Pacific Health, Nunkuwarrin Yunti, Aboriginal Health Council of SA and the South Australian West Coast ACCHO Network, it has been a privilege to start building relationships and learn about the work happening in each region.
It has been a jam packed year with too many highlights to list, but a few standouts include the National TIS Workshop in June where it was great to see all teams attending and actively participating, attending Winnunga’s World No Tobacco Day morning tea, taking part in the VAHS VIC TIS team workshops, delivering training with FIAAI, participating in SAWCAN’s annual workshop, and attending Grand Pacific Health’s Health Expo 3-on-3 basketball competition.
It has been a privilege to support teams with their events, Activity Work Plans and Performance Reports, and seeing the depth of knowledge and commitment across all the services makes it really exciting to see what unfolds in 2026.
