Abstract: In this paper we provide an overview of the concept of food security and the problems that are presented by the current food system in relation to the uneven nutrition transition. We then move to explore the question about what lies behind a food secure nation in terms of the major drivers of food security, drawing attention to the implications for rural and remote Australia
