Abstract: To undertake an international literature review on the loss of storage water through surface evaporation. This includes the impact water evaporation has on semi-arid and arid livestock pastoral enterprises, the technologies available to reduce water evaporation and an assessment of their applicability, cost and practicality for arid zone pastoralism.
