Abstract: • Need holistic approach to address health inequity: • improving education • employment • infrastructure • climate change adaptation strategies • ‘One size fits all’ policies and programs don’t work in remote settings • Need to understand unique circumstances, needs and aspirations of communities • Can be done (i.e. ACR program in Aboriginal communities) to tailor service delivery programs to community needs but also to ignite entrepreneurship and business development. • More interdisciplinary and cross-agency programs needed to maximise desired health outcomes Recommend using the desert syndrome and interplay frameworks in development of government initiatives and programs
