NATSIFACP | Regulation Support Hub workshops
Over September and October 2025, 47 out of 49 NATSIFAC service provider sites took part in five workshops held across Australia, facilitated by the NATSIFAC Regulation Support Hub. Focused on yarning and First Nations-led problem solving, the workshops created space for us to explore the new Aged Care Act 2024 together and support everyone in navigating the upcoming reforms.
We sincerely thank every participant for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend. Your insights, openness, and willingness to engage made these workshops truly valuable.
NATSIFACP service providers have always delivered flexible, culturally grounded care. However, the new Act introduces greater regulations, reporting and compliance requirements and these workshops provided a chance to navigate the Aged Care Act together. Through collaboration, participants created a space to walk through these changes, understand what they mean in practice, and begin planning for implementation in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Just as importantly, the workshops saw regional and remote providers come together in person. Participants built relationships through shared experiences, reflecting on service pressures and supporting one another. Many described the value of being in a room with others who genuinely understand the work, responsibility and commitment to caring for Elders and families. The sessions helped reduce the sense of having to “figure this out alone” and reinforced the strength and knowledge that already exists within the sector.
Across all locations, providers showed deep commitment to delivering culturally safe care rooted in community and connection. The tone was honest, thoughtful and grounded – acknowledging the scale of reform while maintaining a strong focus on doing what is best for our Elders.
