Prof. Tom Calma AO

Professor Tom Calma AO has a long and distinguished career in social justice and community development. He is the Chancellor of University of Canberra and the National Coordinator for Tackling Indigenous Smoking. He served as Race Discrimination Commissioner from 2004 until 2009 and is the former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner with the Australian Human Rights Commission. Tom currently co-chairs the NIAA-funded Senior Advisory Group that leads the Indigenous Voice co-design process, as a way for Indigenous Australians to provide advice and input on matters that are important to improving their lives. Ninti Board member since 2009.
