The Big Rivers Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) program, led by Katherine West Health Board in partnership with Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service, Sunrise Health Service, and the Northern Territory Government, is focused on reducing smoking rates among First Nations people in the Big Rivers region.
As part of its efforts, the program has developed a series of twelve 30-second TV commercials featuring smoke-free champions from local communities. These ads aim to challenge attitudes and behaviors around tobacco and vaping use.
The commercials will air on Channel 7 during the 2025 AFL season, with the first airing on Friday 7 March 2025.
