Two Way Governance: Presentation 25

You can then talk about how the

agenda came about.

In writing to your protocol, you’re

making it clear that:

• you expect guests to behave and

contribute in a good way for the

meeting.

• you are prepared to work

cooperatively and respectfully and

you expect visitors to do so as well.

• you expect visitors to engage

respectfully with your community,

country, language and culture.

If you have a Cultural Orientation or

Cultural Awareness program, you could

invite the visitors and their staff to take

part in the program.

‘Our practice is to write to departments asking for presentations and business items to be sent to

the Government Engagement Coordinator (GEC) and the Indigenous Engagement Officer (IEO) two

weeks before the meeting date.’

‘Taking part in our Cultural Orientation program will give you a better idea

of our community and how we feel about culture and country.’
