Two Way Governance: Presentation 25
You make it clear to your visitors that
some of the people at the meeting
speak a first language other than
English.
Tell the visitors the timetable for
the meeting.
You can talk about the agenda.
‘We have interpreters from the Aboriginal Interpreter Service
to interpret this meeting in the languages of the Traditional
Owners and other language speakers present today.’
‘We start at 9.30 and we’ll take a working morning tea. We break for lunch at
12.30 for 45 minutes and we hope to finish for the day by 4pm at the latest.’
‘As you can see from the written agenda, we will start with an
introduction from the Chairperson, followed by a presentation by
our invited guests.
We will then break into working groups to review the education
proposals in the LIP and then come back together to hear reports
back from the groups and decide where we go next.’
