Abstract: The workshop was held as part of two concurrent fire management projects: Desert Fire and the Consultancy to produce a Fire Management Strategy for Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park (UKTNP). Both projects were developed in the context of widespread wildfires in 2001–2002 which followed high rainfall in 2000, and also for some areas in 2001.
