Abstract: A review of international research into the impact that various indicators of socio-economic status, and especially education levels, have on people's health. The paper also canvasses some of the issues involved in applying these research findings in Indigenous Australia, and discusses options for pursuing similar research through the CRCATH program. In particular, this paper examines the work on "health transitions" and its relevance to Indigenous health in Australia.
