Abstract: This essay briefly discusses neo-liberal approaches to the provision of social welfare, in synergy with reforms in public administration. It is the nuanced and dynamic interplay between these approaches that influences governance and business management activities of Indigenous community-controlled organisations within the Australian context. This paper draws on previous work identifying the racialised dimensions of neo-liberalism, in particular, how it constitutes and reflects non-Indigenous world thinking and logics for action designed specifically for the non- Indigenous political economy.
