Abstract: Evaluative studies on the effectiveness and outcomes of integrated models responding to Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) remain limited (Productivity Commission 2020). Despite this, most jurisdictions see integrated models as best practice for effectively responding to DFV. This research brief describes how these models are broadly conceived, how they have been applied in Australia, where improvements have been made, and how they require further changes to support Indigenous victims particularly those in remote and rural settings. Similarly, this research brief highlights best practice to facilitate the improvement of practices, processes, and evaluation strategies for ensuring Indigenous families and communities remain at the ‘centre’ of future developments in this space.
