Abstract: The purpose of this guide is to raise awareness among persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs), safety practitioners, managers, supervisors and workers of the hazards that may be present for people required to work remotely or in isolation. The guide is designed to assist in the identification, assessment and control of the hazards associated with remote or isolated work, and the development of appropriate policies and procedures to enable organisations to meet their legal obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth) (WHS Act), the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Cth) (WHS Regulations) and certain approved Codes of Practice. These include the Work Health and Safety Code of Practice 2011 (Cth)—Managing the Work Environment and Facilities, and the Work Health and Safety Code of Practice 2011 (Cth)—First Aid in the Workplace.
