Message from the MD – December 2018

2018 has been a very active year for Ninti One, as we fulfil our objective of building opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, especially in remote Australia. There has been quite a demand for our research expertise, which was built up over the last 14 years of managing two Cooperative Research Centres. One example is our involvement in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s evaluation of the effectiveness of the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS). We are currently undertaking targeted Grant Activity Reviews in the Barkly region for PM&C, by reviewing 12 IAS grant-funded activities in Tennant Creek and surrounding remote NT communities. This follows on from a previous set of reviews in the Pilbara region of WA earlier this year. I have been fortunate enough to be a reviewer on each of these reviews, led by Karel Williams.
